On our drive from the Naboisha Conservancy to Masai Mara, we came across a male lion from the ‘Double Crossing’ pride. It was lying peacefully, sleeping under a bush, taking shelter from the mid-day sun. Every now and then it would open one eye to ward off the flies, acknowledged our presence and close it right back. His body lay perfectly still in the shadow of the bush with the other eye buried deep in the grass. There was soft light falling on his face which afforded me the perfect opportunity to capture his ‘glowing eye’.
